About
It is my passion to bring people and the arts together
It is something I have done in a number of guises. I started in London in the late 1990’s putting on events in Covent Garden in empty spaces, bars & showrooms, filling them with art and design. Then I took a swerve into the emerging Eco Friendly Market, in the noughties, working with like-minded people in making homewares with green credentials and taking over empty shops on short term leases in large groups.
The Evening Standard called us Gueriila Shop owners before the word Pop Up was invented. We particularly enjoyed our Notting Hill adventure. There was 43 of us in a rather fantastic old shoe shop for one winter, the rich & famous came in and selling Daniel Day Lewis organic knitted rabbit ear slippers did make me smile.
The Truman Brewery, Spittalfields and Brick Lane also held my attention for a while and I showed work in Fairs, Markets and Events there, right up until I left London in 2014 for the coast.
It’s a return trip, I am from very nearby where the Gallery is now. And it hasn’t taken too long to find the right people to work with. Meet the Makers of beautiful works, the Artists leaning into the light to paint and the People who want to find out more about their creations. We are bound by stories.
